The Ouistreham lighthouse (French: Phare de Ouistreham ) is a cylindrical tower on the mainland near Ouistreham on the French side of the English Channel . It is located in the area of the mouth of the Orne , more precisely: at the sea lock of the approximately 15-kilometer-long Canal de Caen à la Mer .

The lighthouse on the Côte Fleurie is 38 meters high and white, with the upper segment painted red. Its range is 16  nautical miles . It went into operation in 1905 and replaced a 13 meter high previous tower from 1886. 171 granite steps have to be climbed up to the platform of the lighthouse. The tower is equipped with a 650 watt halogen lamp and has been working fully automatically since 1993. The former work apartment of the lighthouse keepers can be visited by tourists like the entire area around the tower.

For the centenary in summer 2005, lighting effects were installed on the tower base. With the changing level of the water - the tidal range on the Normandy coast is particularly high - the light color changes from blue at high tide to white at low tide.
