Levi Robert Lind (born July 29, 1906 in Trenton , New Jersey , † September 22, 2008 in Albuquerque , New Mexico ) was an American classical philologist .

Life

Levi Robert Lind, son of John E. and Lydia Nieminen Lind, studied Classical Philology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign , where he obtained his bachelor's degree in 1929 , his master's degree in 1932 , before he left in 1936 received his doctorate . Levi Robert Lind was subsequently appointed Associate Professor at the University of Kansas in the field of Classical Classical Studies . Lind - he taught Latin , Greek and Humanities - was later appointed Distinguished Professor. In addition, he was entrusted with the management of the Department of Classics from 1947 to 1964. In 1976 he retired from university.
