Levon Davidian

Levon Davidian ( Armenian ԼԵՒՈՆ ԴԱՒԹԵԱՆ Persian لئون داویدیان* March 24, 1944 in Tehran ; † July 15, 2009 near Jannatabad ) was an Iranian psychiatrist and politician.

Life

Davidian first attended a school in Tehran and then began studying in 1962 at the medical faculty of the local Shahid Beheschti University . In 1978 he received his doctorate in psychiatry. He belonged to the Armenian minority in Iran and represented them in parliament from 2000 to 2004 . He was a long-time deputy member of parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He was a prominent figure in his homeland. Davidian was one of 168 people on board Caspian Airlines flight 7908 that crashed on a field on July 15, 2009. He died in the crash, leaving at least two children, a daughter who lives in the United States and a son in Iran.
