Lewis McLear (born May 26, 1996 in Bellshill ) is a Scottish football player . The midfielder was most recently under contract with FC St. Mirren in the Scottish Championship .
Club career
Lewis McLear was born in Bellshill , a suburb of Glasgow , in 1996 . He began his football career at FC St. Mirren from the city of Paisley, around eleven kilometers west of the metropolis . For the Saints , he played in youth up to the U-20 team before making his professional debut in December 2014 at the age of 18. In the first division game against FC Motherwell he was in the starting line-up. In April 2015, McLear signed his first professional contract with the Saints which will run until the summer of 2018. In the 2014/15 season at McLear eleven times under Ian Murray in the Scottish Premiership , at the end of the season he was relegated with the club from the first division. After he was only used three times in the following second division season 2015/16 under Ian Murray and his successor Alex Rae until January 2016, he was awarded to the fourth division team Stirling Albion until the end of the season. He played twelve times for the club and scored two goals before returning to the Saints in July 2016 .
