Lex van Someren

Lex van Someren (* 1952 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch artist , singer , composer , clown , teacher and author living in Germany .

Life

Youth and education

Lex van Someren was born in Amsterdam and got his first theater experience there during his childhood. He was particularly influenced by an encounter with the Dutch comedian and stage artist Toon Hermans , who became a great role model for him. He completed his studies as a sports teacher, which he graduated in 1975 and also devoted himself to the study of dance , singing, tai chi and meditative and healing arts.

Life as a clown

From 1982 to 1994 he worked primarily as "Lexis, the Mystic Clown" and thus achieved his first international fame. After performing primarily in front of children, he later also developed programs for adults and taught according to the "TAO des Clowns" school he developed. At the same time he continued to work on the training of his voice and stood on several theaters in Europe during those years. In addition, he appeared in variety theaters , churches and schools.

Work for the theater

Beginning with his move to Norway in 1985 - he lived there until 1993 - he worked as an artistic director for several theater companies and also went on international tours with his own stage programs. In addition, he was a regular guest at festivals and on Norwegian radio and television.

Artistic change from 1995

Beginning in 1995, a fundamental change began in Van Someren's artistic work. He passed the work as a clown on to his students as far as possible and devoted himself primarily to composing music and his own music series. Since 1994 he has been releasing his albums under his own label "Ayam Visionary Art Productions". Lex van Someren has lived in Baden-Baden since 1997 .
