Lexington is a town in Lee County in the US state of Texas . It has 1,178 inhabitants (Census 2000 sq km) on an area of 3.1. The city is about 80 km east of Austin and about 200 km northwest of Houston .

The city was named after the city of Lexington / Massachusetts in 1850 and registered as a city in 1917.
