Elizabeth Stout , called Libby , (born June 16, 1990 in Louisville , Kentucky ) is an American football goalkeeper .

Life

Stout began her career with in the suburb of Louisville located, Kentucky in Mockingbird Valley -based club Mockingbird Valley SC (MVSC). This was followed by a career in the youth teams of the Kentucky Fire Juniors in Louisville during the high school years . She also played for the Manuel Crimsons, the athletic team at duPont Manual High School in Louisville, Kentucky, from 2006 to 2010 . After graduating from high school, she enrolled at Western Kentucky University and played for their Hilltoppers Women Soccer Team.

Career

Stout began her professional career in 2012 with the French first division club FF Yzeure Allier Auvergne . After one season, she signed a contract until the end of 2013 with newly promoted Bundesliga club BV Cloppenburg , which she left in January 2014 for the reigning English champions Liverpool LFC . With Liverpool she repeated the previous year's success and secured the English championship. From the beginning of 2016 to April 2017, Stout was under contract with NWSL participant Boston Breakers and played ten league games there before her contract in Boston was terminated. In June 2017, however, she returned to the Breakers, as their goalkeeper Abby Smith was out due to an injury. In July 2017, Stout joined the Cypriot Champions League participant Apollon Limassol on loan .

National team

Stout was in the squad of the US U-23 national team in 2013, but was not used in any official international match. Before that, however, she played in four U-20 internationals for the USA.
