Commemorative medal for the Libyan War

The commemorative medal of the Libyan War ( it. Medaglia commemorativa delle campagne di Libia ) was an award of the Kingdom of Italy , which on September 6, 1913 by decree by King Victor Emanuel III. was donated in one step. The award was made to the Italian participants in the Italo-Turkish War , who were deployed on the territory of Libya and were involved in acts of war there. Apart from the back of the medal, this is the same as the commemorative medal of the Italo-Turkish War .

Appearance and wearing style

The round silver-plated medal shows on its obverse the head bust of the donor, looking to the left, under whose neck end the manufacturer's abbreviation L. GIORGE can be found. The bust is surrounded by the signature VITTORIO · EMANVELLE · III · RE D´ITALIA . The lapel shows the embossed inscription LIBIA (Libya) within a closed laurel wreath with fruits

The medal was worn on the upper left chest of the borrower. The ribbon is divided vertically into six light blue and five red stripes of equal width.
