The Lichtenberg ( 1028 m ) is a mountain in the Bavarian Forest in the southeast of the city of Freyung and is located in the Bavarian Forest National Park about two kilometers from the Czech border. Damage from the bark beetle leads to its ongoing deforestation.
The next settlement is the district Bischofsreut of the community Haidmühle . The closest neighboring mountains are the Sulzberg ( 1146 m ) in the west and the Kaprad ( 1019 m ) in the east , which is located in the Czech Republic.
