The Lichtenstein Bridge is the eastern footbridge of a double pedestrian bridge in Berlin-Tiergarten . The western transition has been called Rosa-Luxemburg-Steg since 2012 . The footbridges bridge the Landwehr Canal on a common substructure .

The Lichtenstein Bridge is part of the grounds of the Zoological Garden and connects its main part with an expansion area on the northeast bank of the canal. It is named after the physician Martin Hinrich Lichtenstein , the founder and first director of the zoological garden. The arched truss bridge can only be entered by zoo visitors and employees.

The Rosa-Luxemburg-Steg, on the other hand, is freely accessible to all passers-by in the Great Zoo . In the evening hours, however, the southwest bank of the Landwehr Canal is closed to ensure that the neighboring zoo is quiet.
