The streams of light are an exhibition and festival on media art , light art and light design in Koblenz . They were initiated in 2011 as part of the Koblenz Federal Horticultural Show and implemented for the second time in 2012. This was the first time that the nocturnal shape of the exhibition grounds was thematized at a federal horticultural show. For ten days, artists, light and media designers showed garden and landscape architecture as an object of art and design interventions. The artistic directors were Bettina Pelz and Tom Groll.

The exhibition showed works by artists and designers who address the relationship between nature, science and art in the present. The exhibition title " Art Forms of Nature " was based on the title of a collection of lithographs that the German zoologist and draftsman Ernst Haeckel published successively from 1899 to 1904. To this day, they are considered milestones in the history of naturalistic illustration and in their review history they reflect the tension between art and science.

Stops on the course were the Electoral Palace , the Rhine facilities , the Kaiser Wilhelm I monument at the Deutsches Eck and the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. The participating artists and designers were Atsara (Audrey Rocher and Roland Devocelle), Dominik Busch, Casa Magica (Friedrich Förster and Sabine Weißinger), Catherine Chalmers, Scott Draves, Detlef Hartung and Georg Trenz, Norimichi Hirakawa, Loop.ph, Retouramont and Edwin van der Heide.

The organizer was the Federal Horticultural Show Koblenz 2011.
