Antide Boyer

Antide Boyer (born October 26, 1850 in Aubagne , † July 24, 1918 in Marseille ) was a French politician. He was a member of the National Assembly from 1885 to 1909 and a member of the Senate from 1909 to 1912 .

Boyer was a trained potter , studied and was employed by the railroad. He became a member of the city council of Marseille in 1884 and was able to enter the French National Assembly in 1885 as a socialist candidate in the 5th constituency of Marseille . There he was re-elected five times. From 1888 to 1892 he was also mayor of his native Aubagne. In 1909 a Senate seat became vacant due to the death of a senator , for which Boyer successfully applied. In the next election in 1912, however, he suffered a defeat against Frédéric Mascle . He was no longer politically active until his death in 1918.
