Roger Delagnes

Roger Delagnes (born May 11, 1902 in Montpellier , † April 6, 1976 in Marseille ) was a French politician . He was a member of the Senate from 1962 to 1974 .

Delagnes was a teacher when he became mayor of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer for the SFIO in 1945 . In the same year he moved into the general council of the Bouches-du-Rhône department and became its vice-president. In 1959, he came fourth on the list in the Senate elections, but failed. However, in 1962 he was able to move up to the Senate for Gaston Defferre . After being re-elected in 1971, he resigned in 1974 on health grounds. He died two years later. Delagnes was a Knight of the Legion of Honor .
