Frédéric Mascle

Frédéric Mascle (born January 1, 1853 in Châteaurenard , † February 24, 1917 in Marseille ) was a French politician. He was a member of the Senate from 1912 to 1917 .

Mascle made a career as an administrative officer in the prefectures of the French departments . He worked as prefect in the four departments of Landes , Dordogne , Maine-et-Loire and Loire . Then he worked in the Ministry of the Interior and Labor Ministry. In 1912 he was elected to the Senate for the Bouches-du-Rhône department , replacing Antide Boyer as senator. In the Senate, he joined the moderate left and was henceforth active on the Marine Technical Committee. In 1916, Mascle lost his only son on the battlefield. Just a year later he died of a heart attack himself. Mascle was made an officer of the Legion of Honor.
