Robert Marignan

Robert Marignan (born October 26, 1910 in Parignargues , Gard département , † October 16, 1985 in Montpellier ) was a French politician. From 1955 to 1958 he was a member of the Conseil de la République , today's Senate .

Marignan was first a pharmacist and from 1932 worked as a military pharmacist. In 1939 he briefly took part in World War II before he was ordered back for health reasons. His political career began in 1945 when Marignan was elected to the town council of Châteaurenard . In 1953 he became mayor of the city. Also due to an offensive election campaign with great sympathy, which he enjoyed in the entire Bouches-du-Rhône department , he was able to enter the Senate for this in 1955. There he joined the left Republicans. In 1958 he was briefly Secretary of the Senate. He was not re-elected in the 1959 elections. Marignan died in Montpellier in 1985.
