Benoît Bergeon

Benoît Bergeon (born February 11, 1870 in Caluire-et-Cuire , † July 13, 1947 in Vallauris ) was a French politician. He was a member of the National Assembly from 1914 to 1919 and a member of the Senate from 1921 to 1939 .

Bergeon studied law in Lyon and then attended notary schools in Paris and Marseille . In 1908 he entered the city council of Marseille and was deputy mayor from 1910 to 1912. In 1914 he entered the National Assembly for the Bouches-du-Rhône department , where he joined a socialist group. There and later in the Senate, he was particularly concerned with naval matters. In 1919 he ran for re-election, but did not succeed. Two years later, however, he was able to successfully move into the Senate. Bergeon remained a senator until 1939 when he was not re-elected. He retired to Vallauris, where he died in 1947.
