Bastien Leccia

Bastien Leccia (born November 3, 1919 in Conca , † April 9, 2004 in Marseille ) was a French politician . He was a member of the National Assembly from 1967 to 1968 and a member of the Senate from 1983 to 1989 .

Born in Corsica , Leccia spent the rest of his life in Marseille. He joined the SFIO at the age of seventeen . In 1939 he became chairman of the young socialists in the Bouches-du-Rhône department . During the German occupation he took part in the Resistance . In 1959 he moved to the city council of Marseille. In the 1967 parliamentary elections, he stood for the Socialists in the first constituency of the Bouches-du-Rhône department. Although he was elected, he lost his mandate in the new elections in 1968. In the 1973 elections, he ran again unsuccessfully. In 1980 he was also unable to win a seat in the Senate elections, but moved up in 1983 for the late Antoine Andrieux . In 1989 he did not stand for re-election. Leccia, who died in 2004, was an officer of the Ordre national du Mérite and knight of the Legion of Honor .
