location
In the historic center of Neuwerk, located in the immediate vicinity of the monastery grounds and the Catholic cemetery, the parish center with the centrally oriented parish church forms an overall ensemble that characterizes the street space.
architecture
The parish buildings attached to the church (parish, residential house for pastor, chaplain and cantor) are built as two-storey brick buildings with single-storey connecting structures on the northeast side of the forecourt. With the design of the rear fronts, the architect is beginning to resume the scheme of the ridge development planned as early as 1947 and implemented on the main street in Rheydt .
The two two-storey residential buildings rise on a cube-shaped floor plan . The design features of the houses are essentially reduced to the clear contours of the building structure, which were created by the extremely small roof overhang - a preference of the architect. An emphatically objective treatment of the facades also underlines the simplicity of the building.
The single-storey connecting buildings with no basement are designed in a similarly functional and simple design. The shape and shape of the window openings - instead of brick lintels, untreated concrete lintels from the outside - are matched to those of the two-story buildings.
