Liesbet De Vocht (born January 5, 1979 in Turnhout ) is a former Belgian cyclist .

Athletic career

Liesbet De Vocht comes from a cycling family, her brother Wim was also active as a cyclist. In 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013 she became the time trial champion of the province of Antwerp and also took third place in the national championship in the individual time trial in 2007 .

In 2009 De Vocht won her first Belgian championship title, in the time trial, and was able to repeat this success in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In addition, she was Belgian road racing champion twice - in 2010 and 2013 . She started at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and finished ninth in the road race and 23rd in the time trial.

In the course of her career, Liesbet De Vocht achieved a total of 54 victories. In August 2014, she ended this prematurely when, after a fall, she could no longer take part in the road world championships , which should have been the last race of her career. In her home town of Arendonk a farewell race was held in her honor, in which Marianne Vos and Jolien D'hoore took part. In April 2015 she became the mother of a daughter.
