Light of Truth Award

The Light of Truth Award is a prize given by the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT), which has been campaigning for the rights of the people of Tibetan origin since the violent occupation of Tibet by the People's Republic of China in 1950.

Award

The price is for a simple Tibetan butter lamp. It symbolizes an extraordinary light that each of the award winners has carried to Tibet. The ICT donates the Light of Truth Award to people and organizations who have made significant contributions to public reassessment and the fight for human rights and democratic freedoms of the Tibetan people. The Light of Truth Award is the most honorable prize of the Tibetan exile movement and is presented annually by the Dalai Lama at the request of the ICT .
