The Lignes Syriennes du Chemin de fer de Baghdad (LSB) were from 1933 railway infrastructure companies for the section of the Baghdad Railway in Syria .
history
After the section of the Baghdad Railway between Adana and Fevzipaşa was taken over by the Turkish state railway Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devlet Demiryolları (TCDD), LSB's legal predecessor, the French-Syrian Société d'Exploitation des Chemins de fer Bozanti - Alep - Nissibie et Prolongements, became , dissolved on July 1, 1933. The LSB took its place as the railway infrastructure company for the remaining lines on Syrian territory. The French-Syrian company Société du Chemin de fer Damas-Hamah et Prolongements (DHP) became the operator, i.e. the railway company , on these routes .
stretch
The LSB operated the routes:
- Meydan Ekbaz - Muslimiye ,
- Muslimiye - Aleppo and
- Muslimiye - Çobanbey
On May 2, 1935, after its opening, the 81 km long route began
- Nusaybin - Tel Kochek ( Al-Yarubie )
to the network managed by the LSB. This section of the route was also operated by DHP, in isolated operation .
The End
In 1956 Syria nationalized - with the exception of the Hejaz Railway , which is subject to the special legal form of the Waqf - the railways within its jurisdiction. The LSB became part of the Chemins de fer Syriens (CFS).
