Lilium habaense ( Chinese  哈巴 百合 , Pinyin Hǎbā bǎihé ) is a species from the genus of lilies ( Lilium ). It was first described in 1986 and is not in culture .

description

Lilium habaense is a perennial , herbaceous plant that reaches a height of 45 to 60 centimeters. The bulbs are egg-shaped and reach a diameter of 1.5 to 2.2 cm; they are covered with lanceolate scales. The stem is hard and straight. The leaves are narrow-linear , between 5.5 and 8 cm long and 2 to 4 mm narrow. They are hairless, with a bent edge and freely distributed around the stem.

This species of plant blooms in June with a single flower. The hermaphrodite flower is threefold. The six identical bloom cladding sheets ( tepals ) are narrow-lanceolate; they are 3 to 3.5 cm long and 5 to 6 mm wide. The basic color of the flowers is green, densely covered with purple dots. The nectaries are neither papilla nor fringed. The filaments are 6 to 10 mm long.

distribution

Lilium habaense is endemic to the Zhongdian Plateau on the flank of Haba Xueshan in northwestern Yunnan Province in the People's Republic of China . There it can be found on stony mountain slopes.

Systematics

The species is morphologically very close to Lilium fargesii and Lilium stewartianum . It is therefore considered possible that it is not really a species of its own. However, further research is needed to determine this more precisely. The specific epithet habaense is derived from the Haba Xueshan site.

The type specimen was found on June 8, 1939 by Kuo Mei Feng on the Zhongdian Plateau. It is in today Herbarium of Peking University held.
