Limonium calliopsium is a species of the genus of the beach Lilac ( Limonium ) in the family of plumbaginaceae (Plumbaginaceae).

features

Limonium calliopsium is a perennial subshrub that reaches heights of 40 to 55 centimeters. The stem is not already branched at the base. Every now and then there are axillary leaf rosettes. The leaves measure 25 to 35 × 7 to 8 millimeters, are spatulate, flat, not fleshy and rounded to briefly prickly. The outline of the panicle is triangular. The ears are one-sided, curved downwards, (30) 50 to 57 (85) millimeters in size and have 2 two-flowered spikelets per centimeter . The inner supporting sheet is 8 to 8.5 millimeters in size. The chalice is 7 to 8 millimeters in size.

The flowering time is in July.

Occurrence

Limonium calliopsium is endemic to Crete in the Rethymno Prefecture . It occurs here on the north coast by the sea. The species grows on limestone and conglomerate rocks.
