Lina Kromer

Lina Kromer (born September 3, 1889 in Obereggenen ( Schliengen im Markgräflerland , Baden-Württemberg ); † September 1, 1977 ) was a German poet who wrote mainly poems in Alemannic dialect. In 1956 she was the first woman to win the Johann Peter Hebel Prize , one of the most important literary prizes in the state of Baden-Württemberg.

life and work

Lina Kromer was born in 1889 as the daughter of Gottlieb Kromer, a farmer and forest ranger. Her childhood in nature later influenced her predominantly nature-related poetry motifs.

In December 1933, Kromer's first collection of poems, Im Blaue zue, was published . In the following years the poetry collections Im Ring des Jahres , Face am Strom and Im Rauschen der Wälder were published , the latter being a collection of High German poems. One of her latest editions is the collection of old and new poems To Brother Nameless .

Honors

  • In 1956 she received the Johann Peter Lever Prize
  • On her 65th birthday, she was made an honorary citizen by her home parish.
  • There are streets named after her in Schliengen and Müllheim (Baden).
