Lincs is an offshore wind farm in the United Kingdom in the North Sea . The wind farm is located eight kilometers off the coast of Skegness . It has an installed capacity of 270 MW and was commissioned in 2013. The wind farm is to supply 200,000 households with electricity. The total cost of the project is given as £ 1 billion. Nearby is the smaller Lynn and Inner Dowsing offshore wind farm .
construction
Construction of the wind farm began in March 2010. While the first electricity was produced in August 2012, the last turbine was installed in March 2013. The wind farm was commissioned in September 2013.
A total of 185 kilometers of submarine cables were laid.

The Siemens maintenance team was stationed in Grimsby . The operation of the wind farm is a joint venture between Centrica Energy , DONG Energy and Siemens Projekt Ventures .

The 75 wind turbines of the type Siemens SWT 3.6-120 have a capacity of 3.6 MW, a rotor diameter of 120 meters and an overall height of 145 meters. The weight of a rotor blade is 18 t, the total turbine weighs 474 t.
