Linda Evangelista
Linda Evangelista (born May 10, 1965 in St. Catharines , Ontario ) is a Canadian model .
Career
Evangelista comes from an Italian family and was raised Catholic. She was discovered by a model scout at the Miss Teen Niagara Contest in 1978 . She then moved to New York City , where she worked for the Elite modeling agency . There she made her big breakthrough; then she moved to Paris and was at home on all the major catwalks in the world. In 1996 she won the VH1 Fashion Awards Lifetime Achievement Award .
