Life

In 1962 Trueb received a Bachelor of Arts degree in zoology from the University of California, Berkeley . In 1965 she married the herpetologist William E. Duellman (* 1930), with whom she has a daughter. Together with her husband, she developed a leading undergraduate program in herpetology that includes courses in scientific illustration, evolutionary morphology, amphibian biology, and the diverse aspects of vertebrate morphology. In January 1997, she became the senior curator in the Herpetology Department of the National History Museum at the University of Kansas.
