Lindenhardter forest southeast
The former community-free area Lindenhardter Forst-Südost is located in the Upper Franconian district of Bayreuth .
The 2.72 km² state forest is located between Haag , Lindenhardter Forst-Nordwest and Creußen . The area is completely forested . The Rotmainquelle , one of the two source rivers of the Main, is located in the area .
The former community-free area was dissolved on January 1, 2020 (as was the neighboring Lindenhardter Forst-Nordwest) and incorporated into the city of Creußen .
The fact that there was not a municipality-free area Lindenhardter Forst , but two separate and contiguous areas -Northwest and -Southeast , is justified by the district structure of Bavaria , which existed until June 30, 1972 , according to which the border between the two areas was also the district boundary between the former District Pegnitz (southeast) and the Altlandkreis Bayreuth (northwest) was.
