The Lindenhof was an inn for several centuries and is now a nursing home in Mainhardt near Schwäbisch Hall in northeast Baden-Württemberg . It has 236 beds and is one of the 20 largest nursing homes in Baden-Wuerttemberg ..

Traditional inn

Lindenhof retirement and nursing home in the 1990s

Between 1765 and 1776, the "Württembergische neue Wirtshaus " stood on the site of today's Lindenhof . After the death of the owner Johann Heinrich Weiß and his son Ferdinand, Anne Christina, Ferdinand's wife, Johann Conrad Ruth, married the Engelwirt zu Geschwend . The inn became the "Engel" inn . After several changes of ownership, Julius Georgii bought the inn and turned it into the "Linde", the name being mentioned for the first time in 1871. A fire on New Year's Eve 1988/1989, in which the building was almost completely destroyed, ended the history of the area as an inn .

New use

In 1991 the new owners opened a nursing home for 40 people in coordination with the Mainhardt municipal council . Several expansion measures were carried out in the first few years. In 2012 the last expansion to the current size took place.

areas of expertise

The LINDENHOF has 15 so-called residential groups . In addition to several departments for senior citizens , special open and protected groups have been set up for residents with dementia as well as neurological and mental illnesses.

Mental illness

As one of two nursing homes in the Schwäbisch Hall district , the LINDENHOF also offers home places for mentally ill people under 65, with the second home in the district only mentioning the special area of dementia on its new website .

Out-of-hospital intensive care

Since 2012, the Lindenhof has its own station for ventilator-paying patients. According to the “Act to Strengthen Intensive Care Care and Medical Rehabilitation in Statutory Health Insurance” (Intensive Care and Rehabilitation Strengthening Act, GKV-IPReG), they should attempt to wean themselves in the future or incentives should also be set after discharge from the hospital to carry out so-called weaning. At LINDENHOF, checking the weaning potential was and is already part of the standard, and in cooperation with the specialist clinic for pneumology in Löwenstein , several residents have already been weaned or decanulated .
