The Linnéplatz located in Vienna district Döbling . The course is located in the cottage quarter near the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna and the Türkenschanzpark . The place was named on June 7, 1907 after the Swedish naturalist Carl von Linné .
traffic
The following important road connection ran across Linnéplatz:
- B222 : Peter-Jordan-Straße and Hans-Richter-Straße were on this route. The street connected the Viennese suburbs of the districts 14th to 20th , but was deleted from the Federal Roads Act in 1994. Nevertheless, it still provides an important link to the west of Vienna today.
There are stops for bus routes 37A and 40A on the square . Line 10A runs past the square, but this line has a stop 5 minutes' walk away. A bicycle route runs along Peter-Jordan-Straße, which roughly follows the former B222 and is intended to connect the Danube Canal with these districts.
Building numbering and space design
The numbering starts in the north and runs clockwise from numbers 1 to 8. In the west, Gregor-Mendel-Straße runs along the square, which means that the listed Gregor Mendel-Haus of BOKU bears number 33 on the street of the same name.
Linnépark is located between the streets. On the square there is the monument of the forest inspector Joseph Wessely and the bust of the chief forest master Robert Micklitz , both of which are listed.
