Linndale is a community (village) in Cuyahoga County in the US state of Ohio . It is located 8.6 kilometers southwest of Cleveland , is 0.09 square miles (0.23 km²) and had (2000) 117 inhabitants, 68.4% of them white. Linndale is the smallest administrative unit in Cuyahoga County in terms of both area and population .

Linndale is at the intersection of the former Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway with Interstate 71 . The community area extends over seven blocks in a northeast-southwest direction and is two and a half blocks wide. The north-western limit is the Bellaire Road, the south-eastern border is marked by the railway line. The highway divides the area about halfway up into a northern and a southern half. The only neighboring parishes are Brooklyn on the southeast and Cleveland on the other three sides. The community has its own police station, but the responsible fire departments and schools are in Cleveland.

Linndale was founded in 1902 by George Linn, who at the time wanted to develop a politically independent real estate project there. The place experienced a brief boom with the construction of the railroad and became a haven for gambling during the prohibition era . Since the interstate was completed, Linndale has had a reputation for funding its budget primarily through speed cameras on the freeway. In Linndale, for example, over 4,500 parking tickets were issued in 2007, which in mathematical terms amounts to more than 40 per capita.
