Lioessens ( West Frisian Ljussens ) is a village in the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân in the Dutch province of Friesland . It is located between Metslawier and Paesens-Moddergat and has 345 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).
Unlike most Frisian villages Lioessens was not on a mound built, but there were natural increases on which Lioessens was built.
