Stylistically, every song in the album corresponds to the soul direction , but some songs contain influences from other directions. All published songs reached the top 10 of the US singles chart.
In an episode of the third season of Friends , Chandler sings Endless Love .
In 2003 a remastered version of the album was released, which contained Endless Love. At that time, Endless Love was only available on the soundtrack of the feature film of the same name (German title: Endlose Liebe , with Brooke Shields ).
criticism
- Allmusic wrote that Richie turned away from the funk of his previous band The Commodores with his debut album and concentrated on ballads and lively mid-tempo pop, which he spiced up with some stylish dance grooves.
