Lisa Kristine Hilton (born in San Luis Obispo ) is an American smooth jazz - pianist , composer and music producer .

Lisa Hilton grew up in a musical family in Southern California ; one uncle was a Dutch pianist. Lisa Hilton started playing the piano at the age of five, and began composing her first songs as a teenager. After a classical piano lessons she performed with a program of jazz standards and blues - riffs on, stylistically oriented towards jazz pianists such as Dave Brubeck , McCoy Tyner , Bill Evans or Brad Mehldau . Since 1997 she has been producing her music on her Ruby Slippers Productions label , mostly solo albums with jazz standards and her own compositions. Her album The New York Sessions was created in 2007 with an all-star band made up of Steve Wilson , Jeremy Pelt , Christian McBride and Lewis Nash . Lisa Hilton lives and works in Malibu, California .
