Lisa de Boor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lisa de Boor (born July 23, 1894 in Kirchhain ; † March 7, 1957 in Marburg ) was a German poet , writer and anthroposophist .

Live and act

Lisa de Boor was born Elisabeth Hüttel as the daughter of a teacher. In 1914 she married the officer and lawyer Wolfgang de Boor, with whom she ran a farm in Holstein according to life reform principles. After 1918 she lived with her family in an artists' colony on the Baltic Sea and from 1922 in Marburg, where her husband worked as a lawyer. One of the de Boor's two sons was a professor of forensic psychiatry , the other headed the Sigmund Freud Institute as professor . The third child, Ursula de Boor , was a pediatrician and a member of the candidates of humanity , which researchers later referred to as the White Rose Hamburg .

In 1924 Lisa de Boor and Pastor Friedrich Rittelmeyer founded the Christian Community in Marburg, which was shaped by Rudolf Steiner's ideas .

During the time of National Socialism , de Boor found support in her anthroposophically inspired Christian faith. During this time she looked after her daughter Ursula from December 1943 to April 1945 in five different prisons. They also took care of her mother, who because of a mind suffering in a mental hospital was housed, and kept them from euthanasia . She also helped relatives of those arrested and was arrested for a short time in 1941.

What Lisa de Boor meant for many, said the Jewish private lecturer Karl Löwith , who had lived for some time in the family house as a sublet, in the words: “After 1933 she accompanied us through cloudy days with trust, understanding and helpfulness I still think of it today mainly when I hear the word 'Marburg' ”.

From 1945 de Boor was actively involved in the re-establishment of the Christian community. The first reading service took place in her house on March 30, 1945, the anniversary of Rudolf Steiner's death . In November 1945 she founded a non-partisan women's committee with eight women in her living room, which later became the non-partisan women's association. She made her home available for meetings and weekly consultations.

She made a significant contribution to the cultural reconstruction of Marburg after the Second World War . a. in founding the adult education center and in advising the Marburg theater that was just founded. She was also one of the co-founders of the Marburg Free Waldorf School .

Due to her family ties, she was able to direct American donations to Marburg and thus alleviate poverty.

Working as a writer

Her first publication in 1938 was "Paradise of the First Morning", the story of her childhood. Early travelogues followed - she had made numerous trips to Sweden , France and the Soviet Union , among others - as well as numerous volumes of poetry. In the diary entries from the years 1938-1945, which were only published in 1963, she recorded the events of that time "as if in a time-lapse".
