Lisbeth Pahnke , married Airosto , (* 1945 ) is a Swedish author for children and young people .

Life

Pahnke started riding at the age of 11 in a riding stable in Sundsvall . She wanted to be a writer as a child and took part in a writing competition organized by the Swedish publisher Rabén & Sjögren in 1964 and submitted a horse book about the girl Britta and her pony Silber (in the original Silver), which the publisher accepted if she agreed to use it to shorten. The text appeared two years later, divided into two volumes: Britta rides the Hubertusjagd and Britta and her pony . This resulted in an original 14-volume series in German , Dutch , Finnish , Norwegian , and Danishand translated into Brazilian Portuguese . Some of the volumes reached up to 60 editions in Germany. The Welsh pony silver is based on her own pony Sammy, the Gotland pony Lilleman and the riding instructor Uncle Magnus also have real models. In addition to the Britta series, she wrote other horse books and short stories, all of which she wrote by hand and had them typed up later.

Pahnke studied alongside her work as a writer in Uppsala and worked for a number of years as a riding instructor in Sundsvall. Today she works as a journalist for Ridsport magazine and as a translator . She is married and has three children. She lives in Vetlanda as an active rider with her own stable.
