Ensemble Hauptstrasse Mittelstreu

Mittelstreu, Hauptstrasse, north-001.jpg

The main street forms the backbone of the oval-shaped clustered village, which was first mentioned in the 8th century. The street enters the town from the southwest and in the northern third, past the former fortified church , turns to the northwest. The building consists mostly of gable-facing farmhouses with flanking courtyard gates, which date from the 17th / 18th centuries. Century and have upper floors with ornamental framework. One focus of the ensemble is the parish church enclosed by the Gadenanlagen and the former Amtshaus, a late Renaissance building. The northern exit of the town is emphasized by the baroque mill. The housing stock is interspersed with a few new buildings. Boundary: Hauptstraße 8, 10-37, 39, 41, Bahrastraße 2, Brunngasse 1, Lindengasse 2, Pfarrgasse 4. File number: E-6-73-151-1. Pictures .

Site fortification Mittelstreu

The remains of the former village wall are preserved along the eastern boundary from the cemetery to the mill grave in the rear wall of an outbuilding on Hauptstraße 8 (with arched gate) and on the rear property boundary of Rosengasse 5. Remarks

  1. This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
