Ensembles
Ensemble old town Mellrichstadt
Mellrichstadt ( Lage ), first mentioned as a town in 1233, extends on a long ridge between Streu and Malbach. The place grew out of a Carolingian royal court and originally had a round shape, as suggested by the curved course of Roßmarkt- and Untere Bauerngasse. The focus of this original settlement was formed by the parish and the Roßmarkt, which was the central court. It was expanded to its present size around the middle of the 13th century. Within an elongated rectangle, three parallel streets run lengthways. A square market square is assigned to the main street. South of the parish church, the main road bends to the lower gate. The longitudinal axis continues in the Brügel, a cul-de-sac that ends at the top of the ridge, where the Fronhof used to be. The three parallel long streets are very different in character. The main street is accompanied by former farmsteads and shows an urban feature in the closed row of their houses. The Bauerngasse to the east, on the other hand, is wider and more irregular in its rows of houses, and its buildings with farms give it a distinctly village-like appearance. The narrow Langgasse, which runs close to the western city wall, has a small series of barns and craftsmen's houses. Monumental districts form the parish church in the raised churchyard in the southern part of the city and the former official palace at the upper gate. The main street is characterized by the row of two-story eaves side houses from the 18th century with courtyard gates and plastered half-timbered upper floors. The development of the market square is heavily interspersed with new buildings, but has the pharmacy in the half-timbered house and in two stone houses from the 16th and 17th centuries. Century defining, historical accents. In the Bauerngasse the farmhouses are partly on the eaves and partly on the gable side, here the old buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries predominate. Century. The cul-de-sac of the Brügels is accompanied by small farms whose houses form closed rows on both sides. They are eaves side houses from the 18th and 19th centuries. Century with plastered half-timbered upper floors. Boundary: city wall. File number: E-6-73-142-1.
Ensemble Hermannsfelder Strasse Eußenhausen
The slightly rising street in the western area of the village ( location ) is accompanied by farms, whose houses are arranged in regular, open rows on the gable side. The saddle roof houses come from the 17th / 18th centuries. Century and consist of half-timbered upper floors, some with decorative patterns. Boundary: Hermannsfelder Straße 14-27, 29, 31, 33. File number: E-6-73-142-2.
City wall Mellrichstadt
The 14./15. The city wall, which dates back to the 19th century, has largely been preserved. The northern section is missing on the east side, the southern section is partially built into the back buildings of the properties on Bauerngasse. The western course over the steep drop to Streu, on the other hand, with kennels and shell towers, offers an impressive picture of medieval reinforcement. The two city gates were demolished in the 19th century. The following are preserved: the former gate of the lower gate in renaissance forms, on each side a prince-bishop's coat of arms (Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn and Rudolf von Scherenberg), inscribed "1607", at the beginning of Langgasse, the powder tower in the north-western course of the wall in front of the official castle and the citizen tower with a later addition Half-timbered upper storey and baroque onion dome, on the northeast corner of the wall. File number: D-6-73-142-1.
The preserved parts of the city wall are, starting at the northern end of the main street in a clockwise direction: Obere Torgasse

Remarks
- ↑ This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
