Tann town center
( location )
Ensemble town center Tann The Tann town center ensemble includes the market square, the Bachstrasse, which lies parallel to it to the west, and the Kirchgasse that rises to the west at right angles to both. Tann, first mentioned in a document around 1070, granted market rights in 1234 and a place of pilgrimage since 1696, has been a much-visited trading center in Lower Bavaria for centuries. The market square represents the type of south-east Bavarian street markets in the Inn valley and extends east of the Tanner Bach in a north-south direction as a square-like extension of the street from Pfarrkirchen to Stammham. The development on a late medieval floor plan shows simple, mostly three-storey brick houses that join together like a plaza wall. The buildings date from the time after the fire disaster of 1785, the facades belong to the 19th and 20th centuries. In the elevation, protruding flat gable roofs and gable ends alternate with horizontal projecting walls. The Bachstraße with the - today piped - brook may have been the original market place. In the 19th century, mainly cloth makers and weavers, to whom the place owed its supraregional importance in the Middle Ages, were still settled here. Lined up closely together, residential and farm buildings with gable ends, mostly from the 19th century, delimit the square-like street space. The Kirchgasse, probably the original cell of the market, branches off in a northerly direction from the Bachstraße and after a right-angled curve leads steeply up to the parish and pilgrimage church of St. Peter and Paul, high above the village. It is built on two-storey houses from the late 18th and early 19th centuries, some of which have cantilevered flat gable roofs, some of which are eaves. The focal point of the picturesque alley is the stately rectory to the west of the church. E-2-77-148-1 Ensemble town center Tann

Remarks

  1. This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
