Park On the occasion of its 600th anniversary, the city of Friesack decided to honor the first Elector of Brandenburg. For this purpose, a monument was erected on a one-hectare plot of land acquired by the city, which was designed by the Berlin sculptor Alexander Calandrelli and inaugurated on October 13, 1894 in the presence of the emperor. The city subsequently commissioned a park as a "worthy setting" around the monument, which was designed by Hermann Mächtig in 1895 . The monument was dismantled and destroyed during World War II, and a replica was erected in 2012.
