Farms in the Ilster district were first mentioned in 1374. It was then that the von dem Berge family probably bought the farms. The settlement belongs to the parish of Munster. From 1927 to 1930, ten settlement sites were created just under two kilometers away from the three courtyards. This settlement is called Haus Ilster. After the Second World War, further residential buildings were built near the level crossing (Ilster railway).
