List of honorary citizens of Speyer
The city of Speyer has granted honorary citizenship to 20 people since 1832 . It honors those people who have made an outstanding contribution to the cathedral city.
Between 1933 and 1945 Adolf Hitler and Ludwig Siebert were also declared honorary citizens of the city. These honors were revoked again in June 1946 by resolution of the Speyr City Council.

The honorary citizens of the city of Speyer

Joseph von Stichaner (born October 22, 1769 in Tirschenreuth; † April 6, 1856 in Munich)
- District President
- Awarded on February 17, 1832
- Stichaner was honored for his services in the redevelopment of the municipal finances, in the construction of roads and dams and the promotion of forestry, his efforts in the school system and his participation in the founding of the historical association of the Palatinate.

Carl Albert Leopold Freiherr von Stengel (* October 27, 1784, Biederstein Castle near Munich; † December 5, 1865)

- Awarded on December 23, 1837
- Awarded for his services to an independent diocese of Speyer, the school system and the cathedral garden.

- Awarded on November 11, 1842
- Jäger was made an honorary citizen for his services against child labor, for compulsory schooling and a proper school leaving certificate.

Johann von Schraudolph (born June 13, 1808 in Oberstdorf; † May 31, 1879 in Munich)

- Awarded on February 5, 1853
- Schraudolph created a cycle of paintings from the life of St. Bernhard for the painting of the Speyer Cathedral. For this work he was awarded honorary citizenship.

- Together with Schraudolph, Schwarzmann, who was also involved in the painting of the cathedral, was made an honorary citizen.

Anton Nickel (born August 25, 1805 in Kusel, † March 10, 1874 in Speyer)

- Awarded on September 12, 1864
- Nickel, who had worked as a district judge in Speyer since 1854, was honored for his services to railroad construction, the construction of the ship bridge over the Rhine and the construction of the Speyer secondary school.
