The city of Traunreut has given nine people honorary citizenship since it was founded.

In the course of the incorporation of the communities of Stein an der Traun and Traunwalchen in 1978, the honorary citizenships conferred there were taken over by Fritz Stimmelmayr and Carl Orff .
