Federal territory of Acre
Until 1921, the Federal Território Federal do Acre was divided into four districts (Departamento do Alto Acre, Departamento do Alto Purus, Departamento do Alto Juruá and Departamento Alto Tarauacá). It was led by prefects appointed by the president. In 1921 a central government was set up for the entire territory, the members of which were appointed by the federal government.
