List of rulers of Bamburgh
From the destruction of the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of Northumbria by the Vikings in 867 to the early 11th century, Bamburgh and the surrounding region (the former Bernicia ), the northern part of Northumbria, was made by shadowy kings, then by a series of ealdormen ( Latin Duces ), Old English eorl , Modernes Englisch earl and high-reeves (from Old English heah-gerefa ) governs. Some of these men ruled the whole of Northumbria .
