List of Inca rulers
The following overview is a list of the Inca rulers (Sinchi and Sapa Inka ) in common Spanish spelling and according to the official Peruvian spelling of Quechua . Their territory initially only extended over the area around Cusco . Pachacútec Yupanqui was the first to create the Tawantinsuyu empire . The list has not been secured for the time before the founding of the great empire, and the dates are very uncertain. The “portraits” are not authentic; they were created decades or centuries after the sitter's death.
