Altenhasungen is a district of the city of Wolfhagen in the northern Hessian district of Kassel .

geography

Altenhasungen is located in the Habichtswälder Bergland in the Habichtswald Nature Park . It is located between the Wolfhagen district of Wenigenhasungen in the southeast and Nothfelden in the northwest. The town is traversed by the Twiste tributary Erpe . To the northeast rises the Große Bärenberg ( 600.7  m ), and to the south-southwest the landscape leads over the valley of the Erpe tributary Lohbach to the Isthaberg ( 523.1  m ).

history

Altenhasungen was first mentioned in a document in 1074. Originally the church in Schützenberg in Altenhasungen was well off. In 1367 the possessions passed to Hasungen Monastery . The Evangelical Church of Altenhasungen originated in the Middle Ages but was fundamentally renewed in 1740.

Territorial reform

On February 1, 1971, the previously independent community of Altenhasungen was incorporated into the city of Wolfhagen as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

Economic structure

The place is still strongly agricultural today. A total area of ​​approx. 665 ha is cultivated. In 1989 a “community shop” was built as part of the village development . In Altenhasungen there is a supermarket, a car repair shop, trailer sales and a truck haulage with building materials trade and waste disposal.
