Wenigenhasungen is a district of Wolfhagen in the northern Hessian district of Kassel .

Geographical location

Wenigenhasungen is located in the Habichtswald Nature Park, south-south-west of the Großer Bärenberg massif ( 600.7  m above sea  level ), west of the Bosenberg ( 471.5  m above sea level ), west-north-west of the Burghasunger Berg ( 479.7  m above sea level ) and northeast of the Isthabergs ( 523.1  m above sea level ). The Twiste tributary Erpe flows through the village in an east-southeast-west-northwest direction . Neighboring villages are the Zierenberg districts of Burghasungen in the east-southeast and Oelshausen in the southeast as well as the Wolfhagen districts of Istha in the south-south-west, Philippinenburg and -thal in the west and Altenhasungen in the west-north-west.

history

Wenigenhasungen is mentioned for the first time in 1253 in documents from the Hasungen monastery (Burghasunger Berg). In 1748 the village church was renewed in the baroque style, the old medieval tower was preserved.

The Schützenbruderschaft has existed since 1724 and holds its traditional shooting festival every year on Ascension Day.

On February 1, 1971, the previously independent community of Wenigenhasungen was incorporated into the city of Wolfhagen as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

The local elementary school, the Erpetalschule , is also attended by children from the surrounding villages. In addition, there is a lively club life.

Wenigenhasungen belongs to the parish Altenhasungen .
