List of International Masters (Awarded 1957)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bobby Fischer was world champion from 1972 to 1975 .

The list of International Masters of 1957 lists all chess players who received the title of International Masters in 1957 from the World Chess Federation FIDE . As in previous years, the award was based on the outstanding tournament and competition results of the respective players.

In October 2017, Klaus Darga , Božidar Duraševic and Nikola Padewski were still three of the 21 players honored at the time. Seven of the 21 players later achieved the title of grandmaster (including Bobby Fischer, a later world champion), and another two were later awarded the title of honorary grandmaster .
