Totality of Royal Saxon Triangulation ("European degree measurement in the Kingdom of Saxony"); Station 31 Baselitz: triangulation column

Totality of Royal Saxon Triangulation ("European degree measurement in the Kingdom of Saxony"); Station 31 Baselitz: triangulation column (Map) re. 1866 (triangulation column) 1st order station, important testimony to geodesy of the 19th century, of significance in terms of surveying history.

The surveying column on a square floor plan is made of Laußitzer granite and is 2.5 m high. The column shaft, on which the cover plate rests loosely, is attached to a separate high base, the lower part of which has not been machined. The inscription: "Station / BASELITZ / der / Kön: Sächs: / Triangulirung / 1866." is applied to the pillar. (LfD / 2014)

In the period from 1862 to 1890, a land survey was carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony, in which two triangular networks were formed. On the one hand, there is the network for grade measurement in the Kingdom of Saxony (network I. class / order) with 36 points and the royal Saxon triangulation (network II. Class / order) with 122 points. This national survey was led by Prof. Christian August Nagel, according to which the triangulation columns are also referred to as "Nagelsche columns". This surveying system was one of the most modern layer networks in Germany. The surveying columns set for this purpose remained almost entirely in their original locations. They are an impressive testimony to the history of land surveying in Germany and in Saxony. The system of surveying columns of both orders is in its entirety a cultural monument of supraregional importance. The pillar was erected on the highest elevation in the Großenhainer Land (215 m). It is known as the Baselitzer or Blattersleben height. The station stands on an artificial hill that forms its own property. The station was built for the basic enlargement network and is managed as a fixed point in the 2nd class state network. Correspondingly extensive observations took place on the station that is still very free today. In order to protect them from piling up, Heimatfreunde from Blattersleben planted an oak and a linden tree at the edges, thereby marking this point more strongly in the landscape. Around 1930 there was a high signal that was also used as a weather service station.

Residential stable of a three-sided courtyard Priestewitzer Strasse 14
(map)
re. 1821 characteristic rural building of its time, plastered solid construction, remarkable vaulted stable wing, elegant basket arch portal on the courtyard side, significant in terms of architectural history.

The stable house in its current form, which dates back to 1821, is a characteristic and largely authentically preserved rural building of its time. The two-storey, massive plastered building with sandstone window frames has a high pitched roof that is hipped towards the street. On the ground floor, both in the entrance area and in the stable, there are impressive cross vaults. In the stables, these mostly rest on massive pillars. The entrance area is also enlivened by an elegant banister and a colored tiled floor, probably from the end of the 19th century. Above the largely gutted upper floor follows the wide-span and original roof. On the courtyard side, a balanced, profiled segmental arch portal with a crown stone, fine ornaments, insignia and the date from 1821 (marked GH Wolf 1821) catches the eye. Due to the unadulterated, preserved components and the associated clarity, the property has an architectural historical significance as an architectural testimony to the folk architecture of its time. This in turn results in its monument status. The house forms farm with number 14a and number 15
